Who are we?
We are the Faithful Lodge of Durham, a Freemason Lodge based in Birtley. We meet 10 months of the year and aim to continue the legacy provided by the Durham Light Infantry (DLI). We founded the Lodge on the 28th of October 1983.
Throughout the history of the DLI, they become known as ‘Faithful Durham.’ We continue this leagacy through charitable work, like Teddies for Loving Care, as well as other campaigns, on a local, national, and international level. We develop a sense of community to uplift and support our members, with a dedication to improving the world around us.
Who can join us?
You must be a free man of reputable circumstances. You must not have been convicted of any serious offence, or be awaiting the outcome of criminal proceedings.
You must be a man of at least 18 years of age.
You must believe in a Supreme Being. Your particular faith is not our concern and does not affect your ability to join.

We have an Espirit de Corps, which we define as a shared spirit of comradeship, enthusiasm, and devotion to a cause.
We believe it is our duty to encourage and guide our brothers, past and present.
